    I have terrible feet and it can be difficult to find comfortable tennis shoes. These were immediately comfortable out of the box. I love the cushioning in the ball of the foot. I can play for hours and my feet feel great. I do not find these to be narrow and have plenty of room in the toe box, especially if you have bunions like I do.

    These used to be my favorite court shoes - then it seemed like there must have been some kind of design change and the fit, the comfort and the support all didn’t work for me any more. HOWEVER the FuelCell 996v6s that I purchased in October 2025 are fantastic again! Great support, especially in the heel, wide toe box, good cushioning. I wore them from day 1 without an issue. I did buy half a size larger than usual and the wide fit (even though I usually wear regular fit) based on other reviews and it seems to be the answer.

    Great shoe! I've worn new balance running shoes for years, and these are my first NB tennis shoe. I need a wide toe box but a narrower heel, and these are perfect for that. Can play in them for hours, and feet feel great.

    I’m resuming pickleball after back surgery earlier this year. I was seeking shoes that would maximize my stability as I move laterally, giving me one less thing to worry about. Reviews of the 996 Fuel Cell were encouraging, and because I’ve been pleased with other New Balance shoes I’ve owned I chose these. They’ve been exactly what I wanted. I’ve worn them during my physical therapy sessions and they almost feel like part of my feet. Solid, comfortable, reliable.

    Purchased the wide option as I developed corns from my old tennis shoes (Asics) being too narrow, and these are perfect for my bunion feet. Very comfortable and no need to break them in. I would say they aren't a true wide fit, as i do not have wide feet, but they fit like a glove. Would recommend anyone on the hunt for a pair of tennis shoes to give these a try.
