Disappointed, poor material used

A friend bought this for me (and the Nike 18 oz Hyperfuel Water Bottle - White) and I have just been using both moderately for a few weeks. The black plastic coating from the base of the lid is coming off and is seen around the bottle ring and even bits of it were floating in my water. I have never filled the bottles with hot water so it might just be the twisting motion that is rubbing the plastic off. I am recycling both bottles and not buying these bottle types again.
