When I first tried on the trainers seemed very comfortable. After a few days my right foot buy my smallest toe was painful. I looked at and examined the shoe and found an internal hard band in it. Because my feet are fairly broad or not narrow anyway this band was digging in as I walked! I undid the laces and made them looser and I hope over time the shoe will give a little.
Please do not buy if your feet are broad.

Fix the Squeak in the Shoe and I’ll Consider Buying Again

So I’ve been wearing these shoes for years due to great comfort and fit, but will no longer be buying them. The last few pairs start squeaking as if something is living in the sole of my shoes. I can no longer sneak up on my wife or dog, as they can hear me and my sole companions coming a mile away. Get rid of the squeak and I’ll happily come back. Meanwhile the 4 different color pairs I currently own will be finding their way to the recycle bin.

Bought the Nike Air Monarchs as an all around walking shoe as I had heard they were comfortable. They were....until shortly after I bought them when the right shoe started to squeek with Every step. I thought it was the insole so I removed the slightly glued-in insole and put in an softer after market insole. Still squeeked. Then I tried them with no insole and discovered that it's the shoe itself. You don't even have to walk in them. Put your foot inside the shoe and press down with your foot....the right shoe squeeks quite loudly from around the ball of the foot. It was becoming embarrassing to wear them at all. So...they're sitting in the closet, to be thrown out with the next trash day. Waste of money.
