Excellent running shorts for training or race day

I'm an armature runner and am not crazy about very short running shorts. After trying the flex stride 2-in-1 5" and 7", I settled on the flex stride 7" brief. I have a couple of pairs and these are now my go-to shorts. I train in them and also ran my first marathon in these. On race day they performed perfectly and I experienced very little chaffing. The two front pockets are ample and they easily held my gloves and a thin beanie. The back zip pocket is great for a couple of gels, but too small for a large iphone. There is also a secret drop-in pocket in the brief for a key, but I don't use this. The brief is comfortable and supportive. The leg holes are wide enough that I can also wear these over tights in cold weather. It would be great to see a pair of these without a liner to have the option of wearing them for more then one workout before going in the wash.

Firstly to fit; I'm 6'2" 125kg with a 47"waist....so a big guy, not really a runner but going to give it a shot! I initially ordered the 3XL, but should have ordered 4XL. - go by Nike's size guide! My first wear was week one of the NHS Couch to 5K and I have to say I didn't even realise I was wearing the shorts they were so comfy. Anyone who is on the big side knows that's a very rare feeling with clothes. Kudos to Nike they've built these short to fit really well and I'm so pleased I ordered them. Feel great on, fabric is excellent, cool, soft and don't slip and slide so you're always adjusting them. Only thing I'd like is a bigger waist pocket that I could pop my phone in - there is a zip pocket about the size of a credit card, but if you're using a running app you'll want to bring your phone along for the run - bigger zip pocket would make them perfect Nike!
