A pleasant surprise of a hoop shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first looked at the shoes after opening the box, I had a feeling they would be heavy based on looks alone. And after initially putting them on, I felt that same feeling. But after moving around with them and getting some shots up, I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth they felt! They didn’t feel as heavy as I thought and the support of the shoe felt strong. Jumping and running feels normal. I had always been intrigued by Ja shoes, and this model is honestly a great pair to own. The materials are superb, this specific black colorway looks fantastic, and the comfort level is good, although not as comfortable as some other hoop shoes I own, such as many models of the Lukas. It’s not a perfect shoe but it’s a quality pair to play in. I would definitely recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These Nike Ja 4 Dark Mode shoes are pretty cool. My uncle got them for me and I’ve been wearing them to play basketball. The color is mostly black with some shiny silver and a little blue. It looks sneaky, like dark mode on a phone. Not too bright or crazy, just clean. I like that. They grip the floor really good when I run and cut. My feet feel locked in and they don’t slide around. The cushion feels nice when I jump and land. They’re not super soft like pillows, but they do the job and don’t hurt my feet after playing. The build feels strong, like Nike usually does. Nothing cheap or falling apart after a few games. Fit is good for me once I wore them a couple times. Overall I like them a lot. They’re solid for basketball and look good too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sneakers are suprisingly waterproof, I got caught in a heavy downpour kept my feet dry. Grip was excellent as well. Got rained out so didn't get chance to test them on the court but I did end do a but a walking and they were very comfortable. The arch support for me was everything I needed. Very comfortable for standing a good period of time. Dope color way.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are awesome for a few games of street ball. They feel light but sturdy, but most importantly I can tell they will hold up against asphalt/concrete. I'm not going to say they turned me into Ja, but it is a good shoe.

Excellent shoe, both style and comfort

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fit of this show is excellent, it’s slightly wider which I thinking great for basketball. With it being a wife fit I don’t ever feel like I could roll my ankle in these. They have such a wide base that I don’t ever feel the shoe rolling over or going wider than the sole of the shoe. The shoe performed super well, the lockdown in this shoe is excellent and whether I’m cutting jumping or sliding my feet I feel very stable and supported in these shoes. I loved the design as a whole. I think they are very sharp looking and love the asymmetric outside vs inside of the shoe. I really enjoyed the pattern silver studs throughout the upper. When the light hits it right it gives the shoe a nice flashy look while also being subtle as a black shoe. The chrome accents with the blue and black is a top tier colorway in my opinion and the chrome accents really make the shoe stand out. Plus the chrome accent that spells “JA” is a such a great design for Ja Morant, very subtle but unique for Nike and makes his shoes very recognizable. The materials are great, I’ve always liked a suede shoe and these are a suede type of feel on the upper and the underfoot is high quality and have not experienced 1 slip yet. I did wonder if the chrome on the A of JA would eventually scratch and start to wear down but have not experienced that yet. I do feel that the tongue does feel slightly lower quality than the rest of the shoe. I like the overall aesthetic of the shoe with the wide fit, and the details that go into this shoe. I love the chrome accents throughout the shoe (bottom of tongue, studded pattern on the upper, the subtle “12” accents, and the quotes on the inside of the right shoe. If I could change one thing I would make the chrome part of the “A” a little less raised. To me it would be cleaner for the shoe to have it be more flush with the rest of the shoes and would look a little less bulky when looking down at your feet. Overall I absolutely love this shoe and think this is an upgrade from JA’s last shoe. Would highly recommend as these look cool and perform with high quality materials.

Ja 4 Dark Mode Basketball Shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shoe feels low to the ground and fairly streamlined, with a snug, performance-oriented shape. The upper are structured around the mid foot, while the padded collar and tongue help keep the foot secure. The outsole has a very aggressive, multidirectional traction pattern, so it’s designed for quick cuts and lateral movement on court. The relatively low-profile build also gives it a fast, responsive appearance rather than a heavily cushioned feel. The design is one of the strongest aspects. The all-black base with blue and metallic/silver accents gives it a sleek, almost futuristic look. The raised, textured upper is particularly distinctive and it adds visual depth while also it provides some structure to the material. I also like the angular midsole elements and the prominent metallic Swoosh, which make the shoe look more technical and performance-focused. The materials are well constructed and fairly premium for a performance basketball shoe. The upper has a dense, textured finish rather than looking like a thin or flimsy mesh, and the stitching around the collar and overlays appears clean. The molded/structured elements around the heel and midsole also give the shoe a substantial feel. The metallic accents and blue components add a nice contrast without overwhelming the predominantly black design. What I liked most about the shoe is the combination of the aggressive traction, secure-looking construction, and understated black colorway. It manages to look technical without being overly flashy. The textured upper and metallic Swoosh give it enough personality. Also its not an expensive and its affordable to purchase instead of spending. lots of money and its basic. What I would change about the shoe is the upper looks somewhat rigid and heavily textured, so I’d want to make sure it doesn't compromise flexibility or breathability. I’d also prefer a little more visible cushioning if comfort for longer sessions were a priority. The design is very performance-oriented, so it may not have the plush, casual feel some players prefer. Overall the visually, this shoe is built around traction, court control, lockdown, and a low-profile feel, with the aesthetics reinforcing that performance-focused character.

Great basketball shows

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been enjoying playing in these shoes so far. The responsive of the cushlon and traction are great. It’s a pretty cool looking shoe. Runs a bit small so go half size up. Only thing I would change is the breathability of the shoe. My feet gets hot after playing for a while.

Great looking basketball shoe that performs great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shoe really impressed me with its combination of court feel, traction, comfort, and design. Right away, it feels low to the ground and responsive without sacrificing too much cushioning. You can really feel the court underneath you, but there’s still enough impact protection to give you a soft landing when jumping. The traction is probably the biggest standout. It has excellent court bite and lets you stop on a dime without worrying about slipping. When cutting or quickly changing direction, the shoe feels planted and supportive, making it especially well suited for guards and shifty players. Fit is comfortable overall, with great lockdown through the heel. I never experienced any heel slippage, even with a lot of cutting and stopping. My only complaint is that the toe box feels slightly narrow, which becomes noticeable during harder cuts. That could improve as the shoe breaks in, but a little extra room up front would make the fit even better. I was initially concerned that the upper wouldn't breathe particularly well because of the materials, but it never felt overly hot while playing. The materials themselves feel high quality and provide plenty of structure and support without making the shoe feel overly bulky. Visually, this is also a great-looking shoe. It has a futuristic design that manages to stand out even in the black colorway. The metallic reflective accents look awesome when they catch the light, and the diamond-pattern overlay on the mesh adds some nice texture. The oversized Swoosh is especially eye-catching, and incorporating it into the JA branding is a cool detail. Overall, the combination of excellent traction, strong lockdown, good cushioning, and great court feel makes this a really enjoyable basketball shoe to play in. The slightly narrow toe box is the main thing I would change, but otherwise it performs extremely well. If you’re a guard or a player who relies heavily on quick stops, cuts, and changes of direction, the traction and responsiveness are where this shoe really shines.
