Stay hydrated through long hikes with the Osprey Hydraulics 2 L Reservoir. With its Hydrostatic Backerplate design, this reservoir keeps a flat profile even when fully loaded, so it's easy to pack and travel with. The Slide-Seal closure offers watertight protection while the Pour Shield collar helps make it easy to fill. This Osprey reservoir includes a Magnetic Bite Valve system for easy access.

Useful piece of kit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Allows for more intensive sessions without the need to stop to take on liquid. Hard to keep the pouch contents cold for long periods. Fits nicely into my Talon 33.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I already tore the top of the bladder after putting the cap back on during the first use. While the design looks great, Osprey needs to reinforce the area where the cap is and make it so it’s not such a pain to put the cap back on

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fits easily into the backpack and the tube feeds comfortably through the loops.
The benefit of the magnetic holder to detach and re-attach the mouth piece is a great assist.
The seal for the reservoir is reassuringly secure and the material itself is premium.
Being able to not only bite and drink, but lock and unlock the valve is a logical addition.
The tubing is able to detach for easy cleaning along with the valve/mouth piece for necessary detailing.
Highly recommended for a 30L backpack.

Cannot get rid of plastic taste

The actual quality of the item is very good and the design is nice. But unfortunately I cannot get rid of this horrendous plastic smell and taste. I have tried baking soda, denture cleaning tablets, water bottle cleaner tablets, lemons, lemons & baking soda and nothing has shifted the smell and taste. It is such a heavy taste that I can feel it in the back of my throat.
At the current price point I would NOT recommend this item, for me it is unusable.

I've got a couple of these reservoirs and I'm really pleased to see that the latest version is an improvement on the earlier one - it's hard to improve something that's already good but you've achieved it.

2 litre reservoir

Fabulous. Completely leak proof, easy refill, one way suck valve, loved the magnetic chest strap attachment as was drinking up to 6 litres on the go on hot safari trek. fits Osprey 25l sack perfectly.
As new, disguised slight plastic taste with mango flavour rehydration salts !
Am sure will outlast much cheaper brands- you get what you pay for!

2l water bladder - good in parts

Bought this to replace one of a different make which lasted 6 years before getting a small hole. Chose it for good fit with a new Osprey rucksack. it has some good features, others less good. it’s easy to fill . It’s fairly easy to load, but it’s still hard to get the nozzle through the hole in the rucksack. It’s not lightweight and the extra grams start to add up. I have not yet worked out how to clean the tubes. The bite valve lacks a guard to keep it away from the dirt. The magnet for attaching the hose to the sternum strap is a bit of a mixed blessing. I have noted the suggestion that I chop a bit off the hose to improve the fit !won’t be doing this in a hurry with a fairly expensive item.
All in all , if it lasts as long as its predecessor I will be fairly content.
