Sport Chek made my gift look cheap/used!!

Product is good. The packaging from Sport Chek was un-presentable. Looked like it had been ripped off the rack or at least removed several times... Looked cheap/used and I was embarrassed to gift for Christmas

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    A perfect water reservoir.

A perfect water reservoir. I have been using Osprey reservoir from years. I bought this for my spouse. I trust this brand and the product. Although it is a little pricy, the quality is unmatchable.

    Perfect

I bought this product right before a one-week alpine touring trip. I followed the instructions for initial cleaning with lemon juice from the Osprey video. No plastic taste whatsoever, right from first use. I also bought the insulated tube. I had only one event where water froze near the bite valve at-10 C. This was solved by stuffing the bite valve into my shirt for one climb. The pack performed very well all week. There was one incident where the whole bite valve attachment popped off right after filling. I put tape over the connection after reattaching to prevent repeats.

We wouldn’t have survived our first backpacking without it! Easy to use, no leaks, kept the water cold for some reason. Very convenient to use. Very pleased with purchase. Highly recommend!

    Love, love this water bladder!

I use it as my water carrier in an Osprey Hikelite 26 day backpack. Love the combination of these 2 Osprey products. Often hike 4-8+ miles at high elevation in NV and CA. They fully meet my needs. Often recommend both to others. Came back to this site to purchase larger Osprey hydraulics bladder for my overnight backpack for multiple night trips.

I just got mine and maybe Osprey fixed the top attachment hook breaking issue and the plastic taste issue. Mine does not have a hook, it's a hole in the center (see image) that you have to slide the attachment clip from the bag and fasten it. Also there is no plastic taste. I didn't even rinse mine and don't taste any plastic. This is replacement for a Camelbak crux that I did not like. The Osprey is a far superior product, pretty impressed so far.

    Quick Release Releases by Itself

I had last year's 3L model which I modified with a Sawyer quick release. I placed the junction approximately six inches from the bite nozzle. This worked extremely well and allowed me to easily refill the reservoir without having to open the backpack. However, the 3L was a bit big and bulky. When Osprey came out with new reservoirs this year, I picked up the 2L and sold my modded 3L. I thought, great, Osprey added a quick release, well done. On paper, it's great. In practice is another story. Osprey placed the quick release in an extremely vulnerable position. In my past five backpacking trips, I've had to remove my pack every time to reconnect the drink tube to the feeder tube. Every time, something in my pack would push against the quick release mechanism and disengage it. Nothing sucks more (pun intended) than being tired and thirsty and having to drop your pack because your reservoir isn't feeding water. On top of that, the quick release mechanism is difficult to tap into with my Sawyer refill tube and I always end up spilling water into the pack. The reservoir itself is great and I like the incorporated handle and back panel. It's much less bulky than the previous generation. The quick release mechanism, though, was badly engineered. As soon as I pick up some tubing, I'll mod it like I did for the previous gen. That'll solve my issue with it always disengaging and it'll make it much easier to refill.

Nice reservoir but as I swung my pack off the valve hit my car and snapped off on very first use. Didn't swing that fast and I would expect a little more durability. Will contact Osprey to see if they will replace.
