    Great for wind

From the mountains of Colorado to the windy streets of Chicago in November. This jacket has been a mainstay for me whenever the temps begin to dip below 30 and I need to protect myself from the wind and snow. The modularity of the jacket lets you wear the soft liner as a standalone or just the shell for wind resistance. I'd take this as a solid jacket system for something to wear to the office if you feel so inclined. I'd probably keep the goretex in your pack for if it's really rainy.

I have seen some negetive reviews about the inner jacket not being warm enough for any sort of cold weather. That's just not the case at all. The inner jacket is just fine. Up until April of 24, I spent my entire life in the midwest where it hits -30 for a minimum of 2 weeks every single year. The rest of the winter it's hovering around 0 degrees. The jacket is plenty warm. What people fail to realise is that heft and size, don't always equal warmth. The outer shell is great, it does what it's supposed to. The inner shell is extremely comfortable. It's extremely light weight, it's warm, and it holds up the way I need it to. I really couldn't ask for anything more outside of I wish I had a hood for when it's windy and I don't feel like wearing the outer shell. I love the jacket, truthfully. I've bought numerous heavy winter jackets in my life to help match the sub zero temps, this is 1 of 3 jackets I have bought that can hold up to it. As I said, I wish it had a hood, but outside of that, it's fantastic.

The quality of this jacket is fantastic! The materials feel great and zipper is smooth. It keeps me warm and dry during the wet winter weather and I love the 3 in 1 feature for all year use. Plus it fits and looks great! Very pleased with it!

I live in western Washington where it rains all the time and usually in the 40s. I've been wearing this as my daily jacket. It's super comfortable and versatile. It is a bit longer on the torso than I expected, but that's perfect for a the rain and weather here. Update: I recently took this out on a week-long hiking/backpacking trip and really wish the jacket liner had a hood on it.

I am an OR employee and have had this jacket for more than a year. I use it as a wet and stormy weather city jacket in Seattle. The longer length looks more stylish and gives added protection. I use the outer jacket a lot as a standalone, as it is very easy wear over light insulators and sweatshirts. One of my favorite jackets. Useful from September to June.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Initial reaction when this item arrived was that it felt a little thin for a winter jacket and I questioned if it would keep me warm enough. Well, it does! Sometimes I need a lightweight sweater underneath but overall am very happy with the product. Size does fit a little larger than expected but not by much. 3-1 is a nice bonus. Easy to separate the liner from the shell.
