I tried on a lot of balaclavas. I would say my head is an average adult size but most balaclavas I tried on were extremely tight and painful on my nose. This one is snug on my nose but not too tight. I can pull the lower part of the opening down to below my mouth which creates a bit of tension but is still reasonably comfortable. There's a label on the inside of the back of the neck which is a little uncomfortable.
