(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This jacket is so perfect for this wild Canadian winter! I’ve been wearing this almost every day for over a month, and it’s been great. The insulation is great, it’s not too puffy and it’s very true to size. I’m normally between a small and a medium, I grabbed a medium to make sure I had room for layers underneath. Rip zone jackets are such good quality, I also have a lovely raincoat from them and was happy to see that they had awesome winter jackets as well!

It has a hood and you can see it’s a long jacket, but on the bottom, you can actually unbutton the side, which gives you some wiggle room like when you’re sitting down it won’t be tight and stuffy, especially when I’m driving in my car, my legs can still move freely, which I really appreciate this convenient design. This has been a great jacket to wear!

It has become my go to jacket for the winter so far. What I like: It's long, keep warm, and much lighter than my winter jacket for similar weather. It hits above my knee so I can wear my long sweaters underneath. Yet, it's quite light, I am surprised to read it doesn't actually have down inside. I was surprised when I first wore it and found how warm it can be. My old go to jacket for the winter is much heavier in comparison, which makes this jacket so much enjoyable to wear. There's no temperature grading on it, but it says it's the warmest jacket in the Ripzone jacket range. And I have to agree. I think this can go down to about -20C or so before it starts to get a little cold. I was wearing it at -25C with windchill and found it to be a little chilly but still handled it pretty well. I like that it has a thinner sleeve that extends from the puffer sleeve, so it can prevent cold air from sneaking through the sleeves. What I am undecided on: The collar is really puffy as it's lined and it hosts the removable connection for the hood. It keeps my neck really warm when there's a wind blowing at my face. Conversely, when I am indoors, it makes my neck really hot because how it hugs my neck and I can't get away from it without taking off the jacket. What I don't like: The pockets are really big and I really like the size of it. However, I wish it's got a zipper instead of a button to secure it. I haven't lost anything but I wish it can be better secured. The zipper is plastic and I find bottom zipper doesn't always secure properly. Because it is long, it needs a little bit more space when I sit down. Even if I secure the zipper, I still find the bottom would open up from moving around and sitting down. It sometimes allows the wind come in. Overall, I really like this jacket. I been wearing it ever since I got it and really happy with it!
