Salomon Men's Quest 4 GTX Hiking shoes

It is true that many 4D customers are hairy chested spec ops guys. I am 61 and at least 50 lbs overweight. Yet these boots helped me keep up with athletic 20 yr olds at Arches National. I even got some props from an experienced climber. The boot's traction, support and comfort are second to none.

Second pair. Very sturdy and great grip. Tight laces. Slightly different from my last model but no issues with water or quality. Takes long to break in.

I'm a small guy with 7.5 size feet. This is a great boot. I do a lot of backpacking and around 50-60 days a year doing volunteer trail repair and maintenance in Utah for the USFS. Heavy abuse I know. The structure and fit of the boot is great. I don't need a special sock recipe to make them perform. Never had any blister issues from day one. They stayed waterproof. Only gripe is I wish the sole was more durable. I only got two seasons out of these. The speed laces are fantastic.

About a 1/4 inch longer than old quests, really wish they would have said something about this on their website.

Given that they're Gore-Tex boots rather than full leather, they're pretty durable. I have owned these for over a year now, and they are still holding up and are still waterproof. I used these boots extensively for a 4-month job, walking an average of 15km a day, as well as for many backcountry backpacking trips. I found that the rubber at the toe peeled away from the other material a bit; however, it did not completely peel off, and did not affect the boot's functionality. Additionally, as these boots are Gore-Tex, they have a short break-in time. I was able to break them in within two hikes.

Go through about 3-4 pair a year. Great boots. Good support. Very comfortable!

Best boot never!!! I have very difficult feet to fit a shoe.. I bought extra wide boots from many different manufacturers. Quest 4 is wide enough and feels like supportive and comforting!!!!!! These boots have already been to death of valley.. also these boots are completely waterproof!!!! Boots held up greatly!!!! could not be happier!!
