Supercross GTX FAILS

I purchased two pairs and found the first to leak within a few weeks. I was able to return it for a refund. I left the other pair in the closet for close to a year as I was using my other supercross (without goretex) shoes most of the time. Well out of the closet they came. My brand new GTX shoes.. The shoes started leaking again after a few weeks of use. Unfortunately the receipt is gone. The Supercross is light and has great traction for running trails and I love the speed lace. The GTX version lost my vote. Very disappointed with the shoes and yet they still look new!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Durability very disappointing!

I really wanted to love these shoes. They were comfortable and fit my narrow foot well. However, I bought them to walk my dog and got the Goretex version to keep my feet dry. After just a few weeks of use, my feet were constantly getting soaking wet, just walking in dewy grass (not rain or through water). Then after a few months, they started falling apart (see attached image). I have to say I am EXTREMELY disappointed in these shoes and was hoping for a lot better as I was very excited when I got them.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great all purpose athletic shoe

These are a fantastic pair of athletic shoes ... trainers, trail runners, hikers or whatever your want to call them or use them for. They can even be somewhat dressy looking. I took them to a conference and wore them with a nice pair of pants and managed to pull-off taking only one pair of shoes for a 'carry-on only' business trip. The fit is great and the shoes are very comfortable. They provide a good feel for the terrain while not sacrificing rigidity and comfort. The best part is that I was able to easily fit my SOLE insoles ... which are a 'must have' when I shop for new footwear. These shoes are so good, I also bought a pair of AophaCross 5 shoes, which are very similar shoes but with regular, tie-up laces. BTW, these speed laces are slick but not quite as nice as the ones on my Adidas FAST-R shoes from a few years back.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Fit quite narrow, Not a reflection on the Quality

I ordered these shoes for my Husband. In another manufacturer he usually wears a size 14 2E and used this info on the "What's my Size" guide on Sport Chek's website. It advised the size 14 should be a good fit. I have some Salomon hiking boots and normally wear a wide shoe and my Salomon (which were regular width) were a wide fit, so hoped these would be a wider fit too. I also read all of the reviews and felt comfortable ordering the size 14. My Husband couldn't even get his foot into the shoe. Very disappointed in the fit and website sizing guidelines, so the shoes had to be returned.

Strange Fit for Salomon Shoe

Long time Solomon user with boots and shoes and the best thing about all of them, except these, is that you can wear them straight out of the box. These sat in my closet for a bit and the first time I used them there was 3 points of discomfort. I figured they may need to break in a bit, weird but l gave it a try and also used several attempts at adjustments. These shoes are just not comfortable, it is almost like they are formed in an incorrect shape. I will always be a Solomon fan, but after todays run I am going to use my old ones until I can get these replaced

No, I do not recommend this product.

I Don't Rate the Laces Unfortunately

I bought these shoes just over a year ago now and loved them at first. As an avid trail runner, I wanted to get a new pair of Salomons, as the speed cross shoes which I had previously owned, were some of my favourites. Unfortunately I noticed right away that the quick-tighten laces that these shoes have, although convenient to lace-up with do not hold tightly for long, and was consistently stopping during my runs to re-tighten the shoes. This wasn't a big deal, more-so just annoying. Now, about a year later, both laces have frayed and snapped on both shoes. These are my 3rd string trail runners, and therefore get used the least of any of my running shoes. I have now put in just regular laces which I believe will hopefully be far more effective and durable. Just my 2 cents from this experiences, but I would say hold off on these shoes and get a pair of Salomons that come with proper shoe laces. (Note my photos are from the previous model that are no longer sold on the Salomon website).

No, I do not recommend this product.

Several issues with quality

The shoe has a couple of problems related to comfort and quality. On my pair, the foam on the heel part of the shoe wore completely away in about 3 months, and ended up giving me a large blister on my Achilles tendon. I could temporarily fix this by folding the back flap of the shoe in half to act as the now broken cushion. Additionally, I've had a lot of issues with the goretex waterproofing of both shoes, as I consistently get wet feet when walking in any level of rain, and forget stepping in puddles.

No, I do not recommend this product.
