I have owned these shoes for about 6-9 months and get regular light hiking use. Have in general been comfortable and good shoe. Quality is a concern with inner liner stitching at one of the heals already splitting apart.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    My favourite!

My third pair of this shoe type from Salomon. Great for easy hikes and also great for errands in the city during winter where you want waterproof footwear and traction but don't need the warmth and bulk of a boot. The back of the shoe extends up a little high over the achilles which is weird but doesn't seem to affect comfort or performance.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I had a pair of these from a few years ago and they were undoubtedly my favorite shoes of all time - great fit, durability, and performance. Unfortunately it seems that Salomon has tweaked the latest generation of this shoe, and I can't say the same anymore. To start, I immediately get hot spots on the outside of my toes. I thought perhaps they just needed to be broken in, but that's not the case. I tried one 20-mile trip in these, and it largely ruined the experience. I was able to really loosen the cord near the toes to provide a little relief, but all in all it was terribly uncomfortable. The durability is also terrible. I have put a max of 35 miles on these shoes, and already the inner lining and cord have worn down (see photo).

No, I do not recommend this product.

Suitable for walking dogs and biking

Size is consistent with other brands I have used in the past. I prefer the lacing system over traditional laces. I use the shoes for walking dogs and cycling for shopping and longer rides on gravel trails. The shoes are lighter than the shoes I have found from other brands. Last couple pairs from other well-known brands wore out in a few months. It is too soon to know how these hold up, but I doubt they can be worse than the other brands.
