Absolute game changer for winter hiking, running…

Absolute game changer. The Salomon Cross Spike winter shoes deliver unbelievable grip on ice and through snow. I’ve been hiking mountains all winter, and they’ve kept my feet dry with rock-solid traction the entire time. I wear the Speedcross 6 in the summer, the Speedcross 6 Gore-Tex in the fall, and now the Cross Spikes for winter — this lineup is outstanding. Secure, reliable, and built for the conditions. Way to go, Salomon.

Do what they are supposed to be

They provide excellent traction in any condition. I’ve been able to run on some very icy mountains with no issues. The snow gator also works well so your feet stay dry. Great cushion.

Great traction

These shoes allowed me to run on hilly trails covered with packed snow without a slip like I was hoping to do. Extra bonus, after a period of icy rain, I also wore them to run on the streets and they seemed really fast. Love them!

Run don’t walk to buy this shoe

Today in NYC we have 5 inches of snow. I have 2 dogs and also teach about a mile away from home. Need to walk dogs run with dogs and run to work These shoes are a total game changer. NO chance of slipping. This is the dream shoe for people who are serious about running in all weather. Worth every single penny.

Phenomenal Winter Training Tool

Having the right tool is all you need sometimes. These open up the world to running again when winter conditions make it tough to get out. They’re not great on hard/asphalt and dry pavement - you obviously feel those spikes and they are not as fast as carbon plated race or tempo shoes, but these shoes are a phenomenal winter running tool on both snowy/icy pavement and winter trails. The gaiter is not advertised as waterproof but it is very breathable and moves well with you when you run. It sees to keep out water/moisture very well. Highly highly recommend these for serious winter runners. **oh and a bonus: while these may seem expensive they are so much cheaper than a trip to urgent care or the ER if the ice takes you down. Cheap health insurance.**

The Winter Cross Spike shoe works great when you need to run or dog walk on icy roads and trails. Salomon's grippy rubber soles matched with carbide studs work. The built in gaiter/cover keeps snow out.
