8 Month Shoe at Most

Decent shoe but after 8 months of light usage the insole had deformed and the left shoe was too uncomfortable to wear. Salomon told me that was "normal usage - so they told me the shoe is not expected to last more than a few months.

Have had a chance to walk approximately 88 miles in these shoes on hardscape surfaces, beach sand, as well as forest trails. Shoes have proven to be waterproof as long as water stays below openings. They fit well, but are tight over my higher-than-average instep. They have quickly relaxed over my insteps with use and with a looser lace tightening also helping. Shoes run true to size both in length and width. I don't agree with reviewers stating the shoes run narrow. I have high arches and don't find enough arch support out of the box in any footwear. I improved the arch support for myself by removing the factory insole and replacing it with a custom insole that I made. They are a bit hot, and other reviewers have found the same. I have been a ski-boot fitter for 18 years and base these observations regarding the fit on my years of experience with feet.
