The Saucony Men's Xodus Ultra Trail Running Shoes are designed for trail runners. They feature a 3-piece outsole for excellent grip and flexibility on rugged terrains. The men's shoes have a full-length core for better cushioning and a Frame to boost durability & support. The use of a sturdy rock plate boosts underfoot protection. The 6 mm trail-specific last ensures a stable fit. The minimal upper of Xodus running shoes helps to reduce hotspots, and a debris shield keeps the dirt out.

    Accurate fit, comfortable, cushiony and not prone to rolling. 2nd run was a half marathon distance on the trails and they were awesome.

    Good trail runner. Significant wear on lugs after 2nd use on 11 mile hike. Would expect it after more wear and tear. Nice propulsion forward design. Was rubbing inner ankle when first started using the shoes but wore in time with no issues later.

    runs small, needs thicker tongue padding

    Runs 1/2 size small compared to other sauconys. I've been reliably wearing 8.5 in a variety of Sauconys for years. I don't like the super thin tongue they have switched to, or put on, some of their models, including this one. It makes it uncomfortable on the top of my foot when I have to lace down tight. I have ended up having to make my own additional padding to put between the laces and the super-thin tongue. I never had this problem with the traditional thick padded tongues. I like that the toe box rand area is stiffer than many other models, for toe protection when I kick rocks accidentally.

    I needed a solid trail running shoe for all of the trails surrounding me here in Montana. This shoe has excellent cushion for those descents down the mountain and it feels fairly stable on the turns. Overall the shoe feels light and it looks great! I ran a 15 mile trail run with these right out of the box and had no issues. I have since then put in quite a few miles with the shoe showing little signs of wear. These shoes are not waterproof so my feet did get wet on the trails with tall grass overgrown onto the single track. The traction is solid in both loose rock/gravel and in mud. I have neutral feet and run in a place where I don't really need a lot of ventilation because Montana doesn't really get that hot. You could race in these and they really do well as an all purpose training shoe if you run on trails a lot. You can run slow or pick up the pace with no issues. The only reason I didn't give it a five out of five overall is because I wish they were a bit more waterproof and the stability isn't perfect for some of the sharp turns I have had to take. I run pretty fast though so most people will probably be just fine. Overall, a descent shoe. I love to run in the saucony triumphs when I'm going super long on the roads so this shoe is the long day shoe for the trails. My background is in marathons and ultra running.

    What a great trail shoe. Great midsole and amazing out of the box fit. Definitely a ultra shoe. Laces are the only thing I'd change, too stretchy but not a deal breaker.
