Get them while you still can.

Total no-brainer. Get everything from the Legend 1 line while you still can before they clear them all out, if you're looking at old gear thinking "it's not worth buying new stuff, my 5 year old stuff is fine". At the current prices, it's cheaper than buying used stuff on FB marketplace. Get some for your kids for their next size up (they have Legend 1 in the junior sizes too). Elite level protection for 20% the cost of the newest Bauer or CCM. You'd have to be an actual brand snob to not give these a chance. I briefly owned the CCM XF Pro so I have experience with both. Even the calf protection covers more area than the CCM XF Pro, although they don't have the external hard plastic. The only negatives I could say are speculative - if you have really thick calves, there's not a ton of range on the strap. Also, they say they're an anatomical fit, but they're a straight line, so they don't curve with the shin bone profile like CCM or Bauer. You only notice it if you have them on without skates, as it kind of pushes on your inner ankle area, but with skates they feel normal. If you have more of a curve you'll want to go with another brand. I'm 6'1, 210 lbs, and the 16" fits great. I do tongues in with True Catalyst 9x4 skates. Could possibly have gone with the 17" as I'm right on the edge but these are fine.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Got these on sale last week and been on the ice 4 times. Really happy with the purchase. Enough to write a review. I usually like CCM, I tried on the 200+ shin pads but these won me over. Other ones seemed too bulky. Really nice padding all around and slick look. Lightweight and moves pretty good. Saved some but didnt sacrifice the protection. They fit me really nice, I didnt realize until after that I didnt have sock tape on all 4 times. Would definitely recommend to try on if looking for new shin pads
