There is a thick waxy gel that becomes soft when placed in boiled water so you can press against your teeth and really shape the entire upper bite. The taste or smell is what you would expect froma plastic strawberry flavored dental waxy gel. Btter than nothing I guess. My only concern is that, I do have an over bite and this forces me to correct it which is a good thing. Just uncomfortable. If you have a really crooked bite, I can see this bothering your lower bite.

It is easy to fit and comfortable to wear.  This is the first time I have tried a flavored mouthguard.  The flavor is okay and it's a nice change from the plastic taste of unflavored ones.  I would reccomend it to anyone wanting to try a good quality mouthguard with flavor.
