Smartwool Men's Active Hoodie

I've been looking for a merino hoodie and was really happy to see this one on sale at Atmosphere. I was worried it might be too thick, but after a quick walk and jog on a 28C day here in Saskatchewan, this is going to be great for all kinds of weather. The whole walk felt cool and breezy, the hood works well with a cap, and I stayed a perfect temperature until I finally stopped and didn't have the airflow to take care of the sweat. Two hours of being hung to dry and it's ready to go again. I'm pretty sure this will replace the synthetic hoodie and even the merino Ts I've been hiking and fishing in. With the right mid layer (from a flannel shirt to a down puffy jacket) and a rain jacket along it should handle weather from -20 to +40. I'm 6'2" and 230lbs and an XL is a good fit as a base or only layer, XXL was a bit baggy but would work over a shirt. 5/5 based on comfort, fit, versatility, and price. There may be better hoodies, but only at 3 to 4 times the price and they won't be any more durable than this, so I think this is truly the best option in every way.

Very pleased with the fit. With an athletic build, a medium is often too short, narrow in the shoulders, short in the arms, etc. This has none of those problems and fits great. I do question the quality of the material as it retains that "store" smell. But I'm optimistic this performs more like wool and less like polyester.
