Smith Nexus MIPS Ski & Snowboard Helmet

I purchased the Nexus because of its superb venting features, but after using it in cold (non-venting weather) conditions I discovered that when both vent sliders are in the forward position there is an uncovered opening at the back end of the forward slider that acts as a permanently open vent. I was not wearing anything under the helmet (just hair) and noticed that the upper part of my head was cold and experiencing a breeze. I'm very surprised that Smith's top of the line/most expensive helmet has this design flaw. I know the permanently open vent at the top of my head won't be a huge deal on many warmer days, but on cold days it's very disappointing. A well vented helmet made for skiing should perform equally well in the warm as well as the cold.

This helmet is true to size and warm without feeling claustrophobic. I recommend.

Fits amazing, the vents are great for controlling temperature, and the fidlock, makes taking it on and off incredibly easy.

Bought this helmet for my husband. He loves all the features - ventilation, protection and the built in speakers.

We got the Nexus for our 11 year old. We tried many helmets and he found the Nexus the most comfortable even though it is an “adult” helmet. The helmet has been worth the investment and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for the very best helmet for themselves or their kids.

Just wondering why all the ski helmets are in muted colours I’m a ski instructor and brighter colours would be nice so in bad viz day my students can see me

Extremely comfortable, looks great and the oval shape allowed me to size down from my normal XL needs and match up with the recommended measurements for once.
