Good Rack for Transporting Bikes

This is a good rack to transport your bikes on a car without a hitch. The actual bike holders move on the bars so you have flexibility with your bikes. I find 2 bikes chews up all the real estate so I'm not sure if 3 adult bikes would be feasible with this. The pads on the rack are plump and protect the car. The metal clips haven't done any damage to the paint on my vehicle. When fastening it just be careful to not let them move around or you will scratch your car. The anti sway attachment is great, really keeps each bike secure.
I would highly recommend securing a thick sock or some sort of soft padded cover on the pedal(s) closest to the car frame to prevent scratching. As well I picked up some straps that thread through the frame and front tire to prevent the handle bars from moving in transport too. You will need an adapter bar for a ladies bike or odd shape frame.
All in all this has been a great addition to commute our bikes out to new areas to explore.

Does the Trick

Grabbed this on sale and it is good value for what’s out there. It’s more of a 2 person job to install, on an SUV anyway, and we’re still figuring out how best to install and load the bikes, but like some of the other reviews, it just takes some practice. Had some difficulty with loading a child’s bike (18”) but the bike is just too small to fit properly and a bit heavier than the adult bikes. We were able to load 3 bikes safely. We have not done a long distance trip yet, we will make sure we have the proper setup and bike order and with a little practice I think we can get the best setup.

The padding doesn't cover enough of the bar to protect a hatch back. Its great for cars, but you would have to tape extra padding to prevent scratches

This bike rack will get your bikes (max. 2) from point A to point B BUT
-It caused damage to both of our bikes (including a brand new one…) because of the screw that scratches the inside frame when mounting/unmounting
-It caused damage to both of our cars, the clips to secure on the car scratched them both…
-It does not fit on all cars (my Mitsubishi Mirage G4 didn’t have the correct angle)
All and all, this rack is perfect if you don’t care about your bike and your car…but if you do my advice is to stay away! I wish I had bought another one…or at least kept the receipt for this one. Ugh.
