The North Face Men's Chilkat V 400 Waterproof Winter Boots

If you're need is to do delicate footwork in steep or awkward terrain these are not the boots for you. But, if you're spending a lot of time working outside in Wyoming in winter in snow, on ice, and in the very special kind of mud we have up here, they are stellar. I had a little break in period to soften up the ankles a little. They are warm, without heavy socks, even in sub-zero° F temps, comfy, 100% waterproof, and easy to clean. These are seriously burly well made boots.

These are perfect for Colorado winters. Light enough and warm enough for a short winter hike and dog walks around the neighborhood after a snowstorm when I need more than a hiking boots

These are my absolute favorite winter boots of all time. Toes stay very warm in -10F over an hour. I'm sure they're good in much colder temps.

Sizing winter boots has been quite challenging. I wear a 10.5 medium width athletic shoe / 44.5 cycling shoe. I tried many brands and sizes including LL Bean, KEEN, Columbia, Muck, and a few more. Boots like this can feel stiff so I prefer thicker wool socks for added cushion and insulation. An 11.5 was snug but not too tight (like the 11) and gave me enough wiggle room in the toe box. When I finally got outdoors with them, I found them warm and comfortable walking around for more than two hours through slush and snow on trails and streets. They are quick to slip on and lace up, quick to unlace and slip off. I am very satisfied with them.

Excellent snow boot. Good for hiking in snow as well. Size up one full size due to thick insulation.

These were a birthday present to my grandfather. He is obsessed with them and says they are the only boots that keep his toes warm on cold winter days at the dog park.

Solid boots that fit well. Believe they will hold up and look forward to using them in the snow.
