I got these in my normal size. They were a little tight, maybe because of the padding, but I kept them because the half size up was sold out and other reviewers said that they didn't have to be broken in and so I assumed I needed to size up due to the padding.
I wore them anyway since I couldn't get the other size and they ended up being fine. I hiked so much in these and they kept my feet warm. I wore winter hiking socks that had slight thickness and my feet were comfortable and warm the whole time.

The boots are great! Fit true to size (im usually 8.5 to 9, and 8.5 fit great), comfortable with no need to break in, warm, great grip. Love them! Shipping wise, Sport Chek really needs to stop sending a shoe box in a flimsy bag because i got 2 shoes tossed around, a damaged box and the paper used to fill in the bag. This is an expensive item, folks!

They fit small

They fit very small. I am a letter carrier with canada post and always buy a half size bigger. I tried the 8.5 and the 9 (I am usually just an 8) and neither of them worked. Even the 9 was too small, so I returned them. Otherwise they felt like they would be super light boots. The actual boot was well made and have nice rubbery traction...almost a sticky rubber like a winter tire would have. I would think they would be great on ice
