The North Face Women's Winter Warm 1/4-Zip

love the color and the soft texture but it fits smaller

Firstly, I love North Face. Secondly, Winter Warm is a failure, both in the top (I bought it at Sportcheck) and the leggings (bought at the Altitude). The fabric is thin and brushing on the skin side is not suitable for winter whatsoever. I have worn the top in Vanadis Grey in +10C with a jacket on top of it and was cold to sit outside and chat with my girlfriends. This top needs a heavy weight merino base layer to keep you moderately warm and to be winter warm, you have to wear fleece with it. I bought it hoping to use it for cross-country skiing but it is too thin and too light. Also, the sleeve length is ridiculously long. Maybe for 5'11"? I cut the thump hole part of the sleeve completely to get with the sleeve length to the fingers. Fortunately, the attachment point was industrially serged on a 6 thread overlocker, so I could simply cut off that part with no need to re-finish. I also think that the sleeves were not properly sewn - the center line on the inner side of the sleeve end up against your thumb at the wrist. If you don't care for the above, the top will work for +15-20C but don't hope that it is a winter top. I do have Sporthill and Sugoi winter tops and they are galaxies better. So disappointed with this North Face creation...
