First and Last Time Thermarest!

I purchased a Thermarest Mondoking sleeping pad in October of 2024. On January 10, 2025, I notified Cascade Designs of a manufacturing defect in the Thermarest sleeping pad, I had purchased, that resulted in the sleeping pad delaminating and producing a huge bulge in the pad's surface. On January 13, 2025 the Cascade Designs Support department replied to my feedback confirming that my Mondoking sleeping pad had a manufacturing defect that required replacing the defective product under the Cascade Designs warranty. Since January 13, 2025, I have contacted the Cascade Designs Support department every week only to receive auto reply emails, leading me to assume that Cascade Designs has no intention of honouring their guarantee or standing behind their products. Apathy and silence is no way to treat your customers.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Loved this pad, but now it needs repair and crickets. . .

This has been my favorite sleeping pad hands down, but has since delaminated. I took pictures and sent in the warranty request over a month ago and nothing. I guess a lifetime warrantly is easy when you don't have to honor it, right? I loved supporting a US company but now onto other brands. Even if you call their number to talk to someone it just directs to the website. Sad.

Man’s best friend

For any father that has experienced the dad couch/chair in the hospital this mattress is the bees knees and the ducks guts. It turns what I can only explain as an attempt to put the father in as much pain and agony as his wife into a soft delicate cloud bed. This fit perfectly on the dad chair and was complimented by all. Additionally this mattress has performed extremely well camping. Fathers to be this is a neccesity.

How to keep this short... I'm 72. Started back-pack camping in 1966. There were no back-pack camping mattresses, and if there were camping pads, I never saw one. In the early eighty's, as a"die hard" San Francisco bicyclist-skateboarder (Three spinal surgeries: w/ metal rod in 1976, then broke the rod and replaced it with a hip bone graft in 1986) I became passionate about snowboarding. Simply put: I discovered Thermarest sleeping pads and was able to go anywhere someone would let me lie down for the night, and get a good night's rest, then get up and go snowboarding. As a result, I became well employed in the industry. Now, I live on a boat, where I sleep on the Thermarest Mondo King over the standard foam mattress. (The bedside lockers won't open if blocked by a thicker mattress.) So, 40 years with Thermarest. Great memories, and a good back... HAPPY CUSTOMER!

Have had for 3 years, best sleeping pad I’ve ever owned. Durable. Comfortable. Easy to set up.

Changed design disappointing.

I gave this bag a full five-star review. I used it for many years, and it just needed replaced. So I bought another one. Previous design had a smooth surface. New design has ridges on the surface, and I can feel them, so I need a pad for the pad. Doesn’t make sense. Why the change? It wasn’t for loyal users. Poor redesign. I am disappointed with the change from a wonderful pad to new design.

Camp and comfort

I have owned this pad for 5 years or so. Use it at least 2 times a year and just this year took it out on a ruck into the woods on a -15°F overnight. Honestly I'm incredibly impressed. I'm 6'2" 200lbs and I have spondylothesis of my L1 among other issues in my spine that cause me to toss and turn quit a bit. This pad delivers the support you need and the space for me to adjust my body without sliding off. While sleeping in the cold I never once noticed any coldness from my pad. With it in the bag and strapped to my pack, this pad made it through the brush and thicket. Although my bag did suffer a hole here or there, probably due to thorns, my pad was in touched. I couldnt be happier with my purchase as I am using it now while I type this in replacement of my current bed until my new mattress is delivered.

Very Comfortable, hard to connect the inflation bag

This is an exceptionally comfortable pad. It’s thick enough to provide a wide range of adjustments so you can dial it into your preferred firmness. The pad is quiet when moving around on it, and makes a great base camp/ car camping pad. It seems to be pretty durable for the weight, and well constructed. My one complaint with this pad is the connection between the inflation sack (included), and the valve on the pad. It takes a bit of fighting to get it connected, and I am worried that either the valve is going to break, or I am going to poke a hole in the material during the connection process. This may improve with wear, and currently, it’s a pain to make work. Overall a very good product.
