    Just took my trail lite

Just took my trail lite pad on its first hike. Super light weight, easy to pack and unpack, and very comfy! Made for a great sleep!

Over the winter I've camped out and slept in a tent on my thermarest pad more times then I've slept in my bed. The main thing that I've noticed is that I'll wake up in the middle of the night after having rolled off my pad and I can't tell a difference whether I'm on or off the pad. I can open the valve on mine and 15 minutes later it looks exactly the same. Mine has never self inflated after being rolled up. The quality is very nice. It's beautifully made. It's lightweight and compact but it's too thin or maybe I'm just too heavy. I've even used the pad while working on my exhaust under my truck and didn't feel like it was worth the hassle because it wasn't that much of an improvement. If you were sleeping on bare damp ground it would be an improvement. But if you have a floor in your tent and a sleeping bag I don't think that you'll notice any improvement. I'd give it five stars on quality. One star on self inflating. And two stars in comfort. I've owned a Thermarest pad in the past for years until it was stolen. I don't remember which model it was but I do remember that it would self inflate in less than 15 minutes.

I used this for some spring camping in the southwest. We had below freezing temperatures at night and I didn't feel cold from the ground at all. I stayed warm and was perfectly comfortable sleeping on my side. It's easy to unroll, blow up, and then roll back up and pack away.

Since I haven't been able to go camping this past year I've used it as a ""guest bed"" and it's been great! It's kept inflation well and from all reports is quite comfy.

I have used this pad on Summer nights, winter nights, in my bivy, tent, ground tarp, and on the sand. It makes a good ground cover. I an getting ready to go on the PCT and will need to repair the six perforations in the pad that I received during my January mountain climbing trip. Yes, my back got cold. Maybe I have the wrong side down. At the time of purchase, my son worked for a well known outdoors store. He recommended that I not purchase it due to similar complaints. Maybe alligator skin on one side will help?

24 years ago we bought a thermarest matress. This matress is never been punctured and in good condition. The Thermarest trail lite however has been punctured four times in five years already four times. These two matresses are used under exact the same conditions in the last four years Luckely it's still had an acceptable insulating on the ground but it's not comfortable. I could just as well have used my old celfoam matress. It has very good insulating it's also hard on the ground but it's indestructible and much cheaper! So it's comfortable and insulating but gets punctured much to easy.

It is not light nor the warmest one. But it is the best middle ground. So good that about 80% of my outdoorsy friends are using it. 3 years of extensive use and this thing looks like brand new (I do take proper care of my equipment). Sleep is as comfortable as it gets, I cannot imagine not to have this thing with me. Used in + 30 C temps and all the way to - 7 C - it did it job perfectly.

Have only used it indoors on floor and on grass for 3 months... I really thought it would be tougher! In the beginning I could use it for at least an hour before it got emptied... now just half the time...This is my first air matress so I just assumed it´s supposed to loose a bit of air over time... But now It´s just ridiculous...
