Padded compartments safeguard a 15.6" PC/16" MacBook and a 12.9" tablet. I bought the Thule Aion 40L travel backpack and sling bag during the black Friday sale. The shipment was slow, but it was understandable because of the holiday's sales volume.
It's my first time owning a Thule bag and I am very happy with its style and quality. The travel backpack is very roomy and sturdy. I have not used the bag for travel yet as of this writing. It looks durable and like it can last for long time. I do agree with other comments that suggest the sling bag to be included altogether with the travel backpack. The bands of the sling bag (the bag itself is inserted into the bottom of the travel backpack and can be used as a hidden compartment) would help hold the weight of the backpack better. The Nutria (yellow) color option is more like light brown. I highly recommend these backpack and sling bag.

I finally had a chance to test this out. I am so impressed! It had just enough pockets for organization without being too many to be able to find things. Tons of room for two weeks away with room to spare and that is without using compression packs. I love the material and look of the bag and am looking forward to using it as my only bag for longer overseas trips. I also purchased the matching fanny pack which becomes the waist belt. Even fully loaded the pack feels like nothing on my back due to the very comfortable strap system.
My only complaint was the bulky over padded compartment for laptop and tablet - which after some hesitation I removed to make the pack lighter and free up more room for clothes as I do not travel with a laptop.
I am very happy with this purchase.

Very well thought out bag that is much better than a traditional carry on. However three improvements would make it even better. 1) The water bottle pocket needs a way to secure the bottle. My bottle falls out regularly. 2) It needs a flap on the back to slip over the handle of your suitcase when you’re wheeling your luggage to the airport. 3) The clips on the straps inside are clumsy to use. A common buckle clip would be better
