True Hzrdus 5X Junior Hockey Skates

Awesome upgrade from the basic entry level Bauers, especially at a sale price to put them at the same bracket. They heat mould exponentially better than any other brand and are very comfortable for both of my kids. I have the 9x4 for myself and they feel like a part of my foot.. The little flash of colour is a nice touch. The steel seems to hold an edge longer than our previous skates too. The only drawback with this kind of skate, is they're a pain to get in and out of, and tying them can be difficult. The hard tongue means you have to put the shin guard on the OUTSIDE of the skate, but this makes for some extremely good protection.

Excellent skates, especially after baking them. I fell in love with my 9X4 and it's really nice to see that custom fit possibility down in this price range. We had a pair of Tacks for our daughter that were just too wide up at the top, even after baking them. She hated the feeling of these out of the box as they are quite snug at the forefoot. Once they were baked and got her feet into them, her eyes lit up and she was all smiles. They are naturally more narrow at the ankle-lower shin portion and after custom heat fitting them, it's like they were made for her. Nice feature on the easily removable blades too, and the little flash of colour on the ankle doesn't hurt. If they're still on sale - they're a no-brainer, unless your kid actually has wide feet or thicker lower legs.
