Pilling After 1 Wear/Wash

We ordered three pairs of these shorts and all three show a ton of pilling of the fabric after their first wear and washing. They're comfy and light, but they immediately look like hand-me-downs rather than nice new shorts. I might write it off as a fluke if only 1 pair had done it, but all three look this bad.

My 9-year-old is absolutely smitten with these shorts! He wears the khaki ones to school every day, and he’s got all the other colors too. They wash up great and seem to last through school, play, and sports. I highly recommend them!
