Overengineered

While it’s a high quality product that I like and use a lot, it is not going to keep the temperature as well as a traditional thermos due to the construction of the Rambler bottle and its large opening. The cap/mug is thick and very heavy which might be good if you are drinking from it in the middle of the winter, but as a insulating cap I would say it’s pretty useless for everyday use, since the heat is leaking from the plastic and rubber area between the bottle and cap anyway. I use it with a small 355 ml bottle, and when the cap is on it feels like it is doubling the weight.
In short this product is kind of overengineered and the price is too high for what you get, but it works well if the main reason is to keep the contents hot or cold for a shorter period.

Seriously disappointed

I am seriously disappointed with my Yeti goods. As my Rambler bottle completely failed to keep anything hot for more than 1-2 hours, I was advised to replace the Chug cap with a Hotshot cap. Although performance was improved, I still need to use a bottle bag insulated with Neoprene and have to tuck the bag away among spare clothing. The problem seems to be a design fault. There’s no way of stopping heat loss from the narrow band of uninsulated metal at the top of the flask. The Hotshot cap would have to cover this metal band to achieve high performance. Sorry, I won’t be buying any more Yeti products.

I bought two of the Rambler Bottles and are disappointed with them as coffee does not keep hot at all even after buying the Hotshot lid too. Would not recommend these cups.

Bought 2 rambler water bottles earlier this year & really pleased with them, so decided to get 2 hotshot caps for them too. Both came, one was missing a gasket so couldn't use it. You offered to replace cap but apparently it's now been discontinued so you refunded me. I was very pleased with your service but a bit disappointed that I can't now use both the ramblers for hot drinks. (One is my husbands)

It works but is very expensive for a small piece of plastic. The way it is designed to dismantle for cleaning will cause it to wear out pretty quickly.
