Yonex Astrox 99 Game Strung Badminton Racquet

I adapted to the Astrox 99 right away—no adjustment period, no awkward hits. Even with the factory strings, I played surprisingly well from the first game. It felt natural in my hand, powerful but not overwhelming, and balanced in a way that suited my style. After two or three days, I restrung it with BG-65 Titanium, and that took things to another level. The feel, control, and punch all improved. Smashes are crisp, net shots land clean, and the racket just feels alive in fast rallies. If you’re a player who knows what you’re doing, this racket gives you exactly what you needwithout asking too many questions.

Needed to replace my 20+ year old racquets which no longer able to be restrung and not having played badminton in over 20+ years - I needed to do my research. I didn't want to spend $300 on a high-end racquet (because I need to replace 3 racquets). I've concluded with Yonex Astrox 99 Game as one of the racquet. Online purchase experience: The Good: Excellent, easy and quick shipping. The Bad: Came in a big box from Purolator. Only the racquet was inside, no cover, no protective wrap whatsoever...the racquet was just tossed in there. I inspected upon arrival and thankfully, no scratches or dings. Initial feel: Right away, the racquet is head heavy (the way I like it). It feels heavy and I was really hesitant on whether I would like it or would it fit my playing style (aggressive/fast hitting/heavy smashing). Again, I had lots of doubts whether I would like it. Because 3 of the local stores didn't carry this racquet, I had to buy online. Had I tested it in the store, I would not have bought it - thankfully, that wasn't the case. Game day: Wow! First clear when warming up: pop. Really good feel as the shuttle touches the string and swings effortlessly. Yes it is heavier than my replacements but this is what I wanted. Got used to it immediately. I'm a very aggressive player with fast drives and heavy smashes - this racquet is perfect for my style. Drives were fast. Smashes were hard. Good control even though it's head heavy - was able to place the shuttlecock from side to side, down the line and push shot in the mid court. Overall, love this racquet so far. Going to get it re-strung right away with 27 lbs.

The racquet is solid and provides very good power and control. It also comes with a nice carrying cover. The online purchase experience was very good: The racquet arrived on time, and in a protective box.

Little disappointed shipment doesn't come with a Yonex head / full racquet cover that a freebie most of time come with older model racquet..

It's okay, but I don't think it's better that 99 play.
