I've been using for a few weeks now as a walking and gym shoe. I really like the generous toe box as I sort of have Fred Flintstone feet. They are comfortable with a wide sole providing good lateral stability. I cannot give input on them as a running shoe but they work well for my needs. The flex mesh upper on these is much more stable and provides a more secure feel than the pair of NB that I had purchased and returned. These seem to be a quality made, comfortable shoe. My only concern at this point is the longevity of the tread as it seems minimal compared to the Asics I usually get.

This is my fourth pair that I use mainly for work on cement floors for 8 to 10 hours a day. The shoe just works for me. The fit and size are on point. It’s very well cushioned and stable at the same time.

True to size. No heel slip when laced. Excellent combination of wide toe box with reduced cushioning in toe area for good feedvack from the ground, with excellent heel cushioning to deal with pavement strikes. These are my go-to footwear when I walk on the street around my neighborhood.

Less than a month of use on these shoes and the sole has significantly separated from the toe box. I've known from personal experience that Altra's quality has gone downhill, but I figured I would give them one more chance with an Expertvoice discount. Money wasted. I cannot recommend this brand. I will be purchasing other brands in the future and warning others of the many times Altra shoes have fallen short. Buyer beware.

Good cushion, terrible running experience

I bought these to replace my Salomon Aero Glide 3s. I love the wide toebox and secure forefoot / heel but these shoes were terrible to run in. Immediately they felt lifeless and heavy. I felt like I was running in sand, struggling to lift my feet with every step. After 1. 5 miles, my feet were incredibly sore, muscles very fatigued, and immensly tired from what was a typical run for me in my old shoes. The next day I had so much knee pain in my right knee (which I have never had before) I started the return process. I have no idea why anyone would wear these. I am about 200 lbs & 5'-11" and run very light footed for the weight. Maybe I am too heavy for the foam?
This is the second pair of Altras I have returned for quality issues in less than 3 months. Stay clear of this and of the Escalante 4s (terrible terrible durability)
