Overall comfort

It is a great shoe that offers just enough cushion, not overly stacked with too much cushion that at my age can throw your equilibrium off

Great shoe, but not good for pronation

After about 100 miles, the heal cushions are pronating bad.

Zerodrop+wide toebox? ✅ Durability? Work on it

I’ve had the Timp GTX for almost three months. Got them primarily for the zero drop, wide toe box, and waterproof since I work at a car wash. To start with the minor things, the logo has started to peel off but it’s not a big deal. The outsole lugs are worn down but I’m also not too worried about it since it’s vibram. As others have said, the heel is very easily worn down and not durable at all. It has much more wear than should be expected, especially out of a trail shoe! Durability should frankly be much higher on Altra’s list. There’s also a hole forming at the lateral end of the toe cap (on both shoes) where the shoe bends that seems a little premature too. Haven’t had it effect the waterproofing yet but we’ll see. Had a different waterproof zero drop shoe last for 7 months with no upper problems before it started to separate from the midsole and this one might not even get half way! Maybe I expect too much but durability shouldn’t be lacking like this. Hopefully they’ll last but so far it’s not looking great.

I love my Altras

This is my 5th pair of Altras (3rd Timp 5s) and I love em. The big toe box is comfortable and the grippy soles durable.

Ultra Altra

Long time Altra wearer, these are a must. Great traction even through some soupy trails. Padded tongue much nicer for those long runs than the old flat one. Laces stay tied and vibram outsole makes my think these will last but I’ve only put 150km in them over the last couple weeks. I loved them enough I went back to buy another pair but my size was sold out.

Yes, I recommend this product.

After the first week of daily use, I am extremely happy about this purchase. The added space works wonderful with my orthotics and the grip on snow packed trails is awesome. Highly recommend.

Altra Men's Timp 5 GTX Trail Running Shoes

If you are a Lone Peak fan, these are not them. The difference in ground feel is substantial. The big difference is in the heel. It is stiff and tight and gave me blisters, something I have not had in a long time. I regret buying these shoes but my search for winter trail runners has been difficult. I would suggest people try these on before buying them.

No, I do not recommend this product.
