GT-1000 14 review

I purchased the GT-1000 14 because it was designed to stand up to pronation of the foot. So far, I have used the shoes approximately twice a week for 8 mile walks (each outing). The soles are holding up very well. The uppers are light, making the shoe comfortable for prolonged use. I have not developed any pressure points or blisters.

The shoe does assist with over- pronation

I bought this for my son who is a medium to long distance runner. He is affected by pronation issues and he reports that it assists with that and because it has no spring it is good to train with because it will make him stronger

Nice, but slightly narrow.

Fits good. I prefer the GT-2000 in comparison…it feels like the forefoot and heel are wider in the 2000, and the upper is a little roomier. The 1000 seems a little narrow in the standard width. Overall I like the shoe. I run I. The GT-2000 and wear the GT-1000 as my daily driver.

So Far, So Good

After a couple of weeks, I’d say, “So far, so good.” Time will tell whether the uppers on these shoes will do better than the uppers on my previous Asics shoes. I always get an excellent fit from Asics, but I haven’t had very good luck lately keeping my toes from wearing through the upper after minimal mileage. We’ll see . . .
