It is designed to provide the most responsive, energized feel compared to other shoes in the ASICS cushioning range.​ The midsole features a combination of FF BLAST™ PLUS ECO and FF TURBO™ PLUS cushioning. Also used in our METASPEED™ racing models, this foam helps create one of the lightest and bounciest running experiences. This shoe's upper construction features an asymmetric mesh design. It features different colours on the medial and lateral angles of the shoe for visual interest.​

    Great for all workouts, stable daily trainer.

    I love the midsole foam in these, for me as 170 pound runner, with fairly bad pronation on 1 foot, I need a little more structure but appreciate some good feedback from the foam. These tend to feel somewhat flat in energy at first, but I noticed after a few kilometres as my feet warm up and the foam gets activated they start to return more energy and feel more compliant without getting squishy. They're very versatile, and so far I've run up to 20 KM and felt great in them. They will definitely be my long run trainer, and technically could serve for pretty much every other run I do. If you were gonna buy one pair of shoes for all your workouts this would be a good option. Which is a good thing given they are quite expensive. They are definitely not a soft shoe though, so if you were thinking you'll get something like the Nimbus with more performance from the midsole and lighter, you will not be happy with these. Maybe the megablast will be that shoe.

    It took about 2-3 runs for the shoes to really wake up, but they feel fantastic. A little bit long, but I don't think sizing up would work. Midfoot is a bit on the narrower side. Its a very comfortable shoe for long runs. It's a dream for any distances longer than 20k

    Superblast 2 small defect

    I picked up this shoe last week and took it out for a 15-mile long run. The ride, comfort, and responsiveness were excellent, it really performs well over distance. That said, the tongue design is a drawback for me. Unlike the well-padded tongues on the Nimbus 27 or Novablast 5, this one lacks cushioning. During the run, the unpadded leather tongue rubbed against my anterior ankle, eventually cutting into the skin. I was wearing low-cut socks, so that area was exposed, and it definitely became an issue by the end of the run. I’ll switch to ankle-length socks going forward, but I’m still puzzled why ASICS didn’t include padding on the Superblast tongue, especially for a premium, high-mileage shoe like this.

    Love this shoe. Love the look. Definitely true to size for me (Men's 9US), with normal width feet. Full thumb width space in front of my big toe. Snug, but comfortable. First few runs felt alright, but after a few sessions the shoe felt very forgiving especially with higher paces. With the amount of cushion these have, it's definitely a protective shoe. It's not a marshmallow type of protection - more on the firmer side, but I definitely prefer that more. If you have the budget, I definitely recommend trying these shoes out.
