Gregory Zulu 45 Men's Backpack

Met all of my needs during my trip to Patagonia Chile

Love this bag! Switched from this from a 60L. Went on a three day trip in Baxter with this and had space for more days. Super comfortable frame and relatively light. I’m 5’11” 170lbs and went with a md/lg.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m 6’1” and 175 lbs, and this pack fits me great. I really like that I can access it from the bottom, and the multiple pockets make it easy to grab things while it’s still on my back. It’s super sturdy, and the airflow design is a game changer. When I start to sweat, it doesn’t trap heat. The stiffness is actually a plus for travel, and it even works as a solid pillow for a mid-day nap. It’s also held up really well. I toss it in and out of my truck constantly and haven’t had any issues.

This pack has great features, is well built, and is perfectly sized.

Bag is great. I’ve been using it as a 50lb ruck and it’s holding up well. 50lbs is a bit much for this bag but it’s built really well.

I bought a Zulu45 in April 2024. I used it on an AT hike. In May 2025 the seam attaching shoulder strap to pack failed while I was in the middle of a two week AT hike.

Fits fantastically. Airline carryon compatible. The best fitting backpack I've owned. I like the two options for opening top and side.

I wanted a slightly larger pack for winter as I end up carrying more things, and this fits the bill! It has a different design compared to the Zulu 35, and the pouches and pockets are slightly different, but overall, this makes it easier to use. I did notice that the glasses holder on the shoulder strap has been deleted, which is a shame, but overall, this is a great pack to add to the gear closet and trails!
