    Great Macgyver tool! I didn’t

Great Macgyver tool! I didn’t bother with gluing piece into pole since a tap w hammer and fit snugly into place. I would recommend adding a couple of these with tent poles upon purchase since it’s obviously a known issue.

The picture is deceiving. I was expecting two pieces. I should have looked closer at the description. I'm pretty sure I could buy 4 wide metal straws and some duct tape for the same price and be ahead. The product is good quality and I can be more sure of the sizing, it just bugs me that I likely could have fixed multiple poles for less if I gave it more thought.
    Helpful?

    I honestly think it should

So I used the splint to make up for hte fact that Cascade Design's support NEVER got back to me about buying a replacement pole section. So it appears to work, but I will never buy MSR again.

I’m a big fan of the MSR brand, and I’ve always appreciated the quality of your products. My first tent was the MSR Elixir 3, and two years ago, I decided to get the Hubba Hubba 2-person tent as my second. I haven’t used it extensively, but overall, I’ve been very happy with it. The tent is incredibly lightweight, waterproof, wind-resistant, and offers plenty of space. However, this year, during a 7-day trek on the Lycian Way in Turkey, I encountered an issue. On the third day, one of the carbon poles broke. Thankfully, a friend had repair splints with them, which saved the situation. Without that, I would have been in serious trouble, as I still had 4 days of remote trekking ahead. It’s surprising that repair splints weren’t included in the tent’s package, especially considering its price point. I expected the poles to last longer under normal use. Dear MSR team, if there’s any way you could assist me with this issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

What size would you recommend for the Elixir 3 tent?
