Insole issue (for the low model)

First of all. I`m talking about the Low model of the same shoe, because, I can`t fint the Mid on the website. This shoes guys is definetly for the medium difficulty hikes only. If you are going to kick some rocks and climb somewhere you need something more solid with the hard midsole (Crosshike or X Ultra). But for the flat summer hike with mud and water under your feet it`ll be fine. GORE TEX works perfectly well same as always that`s why it`s not a question. So I`ve been on the Gros Morne Mointain loop (~18 km hike with 900 m elevation) in these ones (lows) and I had the next issues: laces are constantly undited. Thanks to my sports experince, I know how to deal with that. And the main issue that acutally spoiled the whole trip is that the insole slid off backwards every 30 minutes and I got the callus on my toe so that`s a definetely a quality issue. I was really frustrated.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    unfortunately a no

The boot top hits right at the ankle bone causing discomfort there and with very little padding on the tongue, seems that this would be an uncomfortable boot. I've had three previous pairs of salomon ankle hiking boots that have fit superbly and was hoping to recreate that fit.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Good shoes!

My past experience with Salomon shoes is that they’re pretty hard and not much arch support. These shoes are decently cushy! I added superfeet insoles and have no foot pain after 8 miles. The round laces do slip so I have to relace and tighten the at least once. Very breathable and flexible. Have not gotten to test the waterpoofness yet but am happy so far.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Toe box (section of shoe where laces connect to fabric over toe) had hard jutting pieces. Too uncomfortable, had to return.

I have always loved the Salomon Speedcross brand. I came across the hiker and said, “Let’s give it a try”. I needed a new pair for work (delivery driver). I love them, everything about except the laces, hence the reason for the 4 stars. The laces are so long and of round that I have to tread them through the other end of the laces just so I don’t have to tie laces all day.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I've finally decided on keeping these after replacing the sole insert with my old KEEN ones. so even if that makes them very slightly heavier, I would put better inserts in them. secondly, the laces keep coming undone. So I would put a different kind of shoelaces on the shoes. thank you

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Beautiful light hiking boots. But not enough cushioning around the ankle bone.

    Do not get these

I wore these to go on a ski trip because I knew I was going to walk in snow. What happened was: as I came out of the elevator at an airport, the hook of the right shoe caught the shoelace of the left shoe and 60lbs of gear fell on me after I fell face first on the concrete, hit my head had a mild concussion and bruised my wrist, elbow, knee, shoulder, hip, and cracked a part of the bracelet I had on my right arm. These shoes are dangerous and Salomon you really need to do something about it. My partner has them too and he has tripped on them so many times but not as bad as I did. My head and knee still hurt after 3 weeks. Also shoelaces are horrible, I swapped them to the ones I wasn’t using from other shoes. This “tripping” was happening even before I swapped the bad shoelaces. Don’t get these shoes!!

No, I do not recommend this product.
