Precarious for outer heel strikers.

The heel width looks precarious. I bought a pair of Peregrines 2 years ago I ran in them for three runs and rolled my ankle twice. Given the unpredictability of trails, Peregrines need WAY more stability I later read the same compliant about them in a running mag from a pro reviewer. Wish I had seen it sooner. Given the mold of the sole by the heel and the same narrowness, I would not recommend these to anyone who has any inclination for outer heel strikes,

Excellent traction

I bought these shoes specifically for USPSA competition. Shot my first match in them and had no issues with traction. I was able to perform aggressive movements on a gravel platform and never lost traction or felt like I was going to slip.

Good first impression

I received these in the mail in Ohio on Wednesday from Saucony on Wednesday and put them in my suitcase for a trail race in Idaho on Saturday. The first time I put them on was before the race and I didn't have a single foot problem with my feet for the 32 miles on the rocky terrain of the race. No blisters, no hot spots and my feet were comfortable the whole time. I've been wearing the Peregrine since version 1 (which was junk, barely lasted 100 miles) and these were like a familiar friend. I liked the new cushioning on the hard surface. We'll have to see how they do on the softer trails when I'm in northeast Ohio.
No matter which generation I wear, the laces loosen up and I have to tie them several times during a run. Also, I'll be curious to see how long these last since the heel is usually the first thing to wear out and causes issues on the back of my foot sooner than I think it should be, maybe after 300 miles, while the rest of the shoe seems like it could last longer. This wasn't a problem with versions 4-10, but came up since then.

Amazing shoe!

I bought this shoe to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain and it did not disappoint! I was the only one who had this brand among my friends and I was the only one who did not have to buy new shoes! These shoes lasted me 800kms walking through different kinds of terrain. I am now a fan! No holes! I only had wear on the back of my heel on the inside of my shoes. Great shoe!!! Buy it!!!

The only shoes I buy for hiking

I have been buying the Peregrine shoes for hiking for about 5 years now. I go through at least 2 pairs a year plus I have the GTX Peregrine shoes for the inclement weather, and they keep my feet dry.
I only buy Saucony Brand shoes for my hiking and my everyday sneakers.

Offer more than 1 color for people with wide feet!

7 color options for the regular width, and only 1 black color option for people with a wide foot, really?!?! Like come on, you can’t even offer people with wide feet 1 light color and 1 dark color? Not fair that people that have wider feet are forced to wear this shoe in black only.

Thank you Saucony!! I have been wearing peregrines for years, and in my humble opinion these are the best ones they've made. The new vibram sole is great, I think the shorter lugs actually give it a more balanced feel without sacrificing any traction. The cushioning is perfect. They feel very soft and also very wide and planted. They have a very secure feel. I think the uppers are a great balance of good durability and toughness while still feeling extremely breathable and light. I love em. More colors would be nice.
